Group and Class Visits

Thanks for considering a visit to Riverview Park and Zoo for your organization or group!  Knowing in advance that you plan to be onsite helps us manage expectations and to ensure all safety and liability measures are in place. We ask that you submit a Group Visit Request form well in advance of your trip for review.

School Groups - Educational programs

A variety of educational programs are offered on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays to reserve with your class throughout the year. We recommend submitting your requests early in the season as these programs are always in high demand come June!

Zoo Trek is a two-hour curriculum-based program consisting of in-class exercises, an animal encounter, and a tour of the facility. Cost is $7.50 per student, to a maximum of 50 people. Minimum charge is $150.

No educational program required?

We still ask that you complete a Booking Request form to advise us well in advance of your scheduled trip. Our washroom facilities and parking lot all have capacity limits, that everyone wants a trip to the zoo to be a safe and enjoyable one!

Zoo Rules

Please review our zoo rules with your group or class ahead of your field trip. This will help ensure everyone is safe and learns how to best visit the zoo, respect our staff, and interact with the animals.

  • Quiet down, listen up, and raise your hand if you have a question.
  • Do not make loud noises or hit/tap on the exhibit glass as this can cause unnecessary stress for our animals.
  • Do not feed the animals. They have special diets that outside food may cause illness or even be fatal.
  • Balloons and/or straws are not permitted on Park and Zoo property for both the protection of our animals and consideration of the environment.

Buses

There is no on-site bus parking allowed. Please advise your transportation provider at time of booking that buses are only permitted to drop-off and pick-up in the designated loading zones found just beyond the playground area.
