Looking for something to connect yourself and your preschooler with nature? Our fun and interactive program for children ages 3 through 5 years old is just that.
2025 theme "Mini Zookeepers in Training"
Our theme this year is “Mini Zookeepers in Training” where we’ll be learning about how our animals here at Riverview Park and Zoo are all unique and different! What makes a crocodile a crocodile? Why are camels so big? Why do monkeys live in trees?
Little ones will get help with making enrichment items for the animals, and at the end of the 6-week program your little zoologists will get to meet one of the RPZ zookeepers and graduate as a Mini Zookeeper!
Each session will include stories, crafts, songs, and visits to the animal exhibits. We also create keepsake t-shirts that by the end of the program your mini zookeeper can wear with pride!
Schedule
Zoo Crew programs are offered each year, with both summer and fall/winter session(s).
- Summer - Monday and Tuesday mornings July to August for six consecutive weeks.
- Fall/Winter - Second Saturday morning options November to April for six consecutive months.
Sessions are held in the Rotary Education Centre, located just inside the main entrance gate, with two options to choose from -- 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. or 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost
Registration is $100 per child and includes their very own t-shirt as part of the program. If necessary, any children of infant age (ie. under 18 months old) are also welcome to accompany you to the sessions.

Registration for the Fall/Winter session of our Zoo Crew program opened at 9 a.m. on Thursday, October 16, 2025 and reached capacity within hours!
Anyone placed on a waitlist will be notified via email if a spot should become available. Successful registrants will receive an informational email closer to the kick off of our first session on Saturday, November 8, 2025. We look forward to seeing you soon!
